Open Secret is disrupting the mammoth $10B+ Indian snacking segment with a vision to “un-junk” the market through indulgent yet healthy snacks (like cookies, chips, spreads, nuts and more) targeted at children and families. Their core ingredient is “nuts”, appealing to the existing association between nuts and healthy foods, amongst the Indian consumers.
The brand was conceived by first generation founders, Ahana Gautam and Udit Kejriwal in 2019. They are both IIT alums, while Ahana did her MBA at Harvard Business School, and Udit at IIM Ahmedabad. With ~80% of the snacking market focused on “junk food” and with growing consciousness amongst the Indian populace towards health and fitness, we believe this segment is prime for disruption.
